My brother is attempting to fit a Pipercross viper induction kit to his (formerly mine ) 2006 2.0i Z4. He has no clue what he is doing and I have attempted to assist him in this task but there is one thing that i can't work out. I am comfortable in showing him how to replace the filter and position the cold air feed, however....
When the lid of the airbox is unclipped and the filter is exposed, there is still a connection to the engine from what looks like the intake resonator. What should be done with this resonator? I understand that if it is removed it will probably leave the engine sounding louder, but is it ok to have this pipe left connected to nothing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
