Im getting my 330cd remapped on saturday by Emaps, but tonight on the way home I had some knob in an audi climing all over my bumper so when I got to a roundabout I booted it and the smog that came out was un real??

    Should i be worried?

I have noticed at night it seams worse but i guess that could just be because of the head lights?

What's the mileage on your motor mate, the 330 petrols start getting a bit coked up around 100k, the 330d's may do similar.

Quick and easy way to check it is to get some 10k boost from Halfords and spray it directly into the trottle body whilst holding the rev's about 3000rpm, do it in 45-60 second bursts leaving the car at tickover between sprays. If it stops the "smog" then your engine was just a bit coked up.

Either that or the re-map has got it running rich..... Emaps are good from what i've heard so i'd check for coking first

its alot more obvious at night, especially with a car with decent headlights following you. If its still bad during the day then take it back and ask them to tame it back a bit. Its always gonna smoke though

Diesels kick out loads of crap when they get tuned up; thats what ya get for buying a tractor! Check out youtube for tuned diesels, and it will make you feel a bit happier!

I doubt very much it's anything to worry about, and yeah, it does just seem worse at night. With petrols also, when you floor it infont of someone you think a gaskets gone!

    Its all good mate

as said i would'nt worry about the smoke from a tuned diesel, my 320d smokes you notice it more at night as said, however i also have a 307 hdi and that does not smoke due to a clever valve, bmw should of fitted it too.
