    Hello,

    I have a E60 535D M sport.(2004)

I've already had it re-mapped but came across a sprint booster on the internet.

Any good??....will it complement the re-mapping already done???

Also what other performance enhancements could peoplle suggest such as:-

    de-cat exhaust down pipe

induction kit.....can't seem to find one for the 535d

what sort of gains could i expect on top of the re-map

    thanks

There won't be any power gains from a sprint booster, it just changes the sensativity of the throttle pedal.

These days, the throttle pedals aren't linear, at low speeds, 5-10% on the pedal will give you 60-70% power, which will tail off as the engine speeds up.
For most, anything more than 30% pedal at idle gives you 95+% power.

What this does is plug into the throttle pedal connections and adds a percentage onto the "request" you make, so the car accelerates faster on light throttle, and is more responsive, but doesn't actually give you any greater power output.

A decat pipe will help the turbo to release the gases faster and in turn the turbo can spool faster. This can gain a few BHP as will a sport cat. Be aware that police can do spot checks and if found with de-cat pipe they might make things difficult for you. BUT! you will be fine as diesels do not have to go through the same emissions testing as petrols do and so a diesel will pass MOT no problems.
You won't find a induction kit for the 535D as this car uses a canister type filter. Also there are not really much benefits on diesel fitting this kind of filter. Just fit a good quality performance filter but preferrably one which does NOT use oil on it.
You could look into fitting a bigger intercooler, havent a clue on price though. This is always a worth while part to change.

thats a lot for your feedback guys...the sprint booster sounds interesting...

if the de-cat downpipe would only give a few bhp increase then it's maybe not worth it

i'll search the net for info on the bigger intercooler

    thanks again

I got it re-mapped by angel tuning....they did a good job.

It was funny because i was impressed when i bought it then even more impressed when i got it re-mapped.

i took it into bmw for a standard service and they noticed that some of the vacuum pipes on one of the turbo's were damaged...letting air in. The smaller turbo i think. They said i'd be losing power due to this

got the vacuum pipes replaced and f**king hell!!..from a standing stard it was even faster!!
