    Hello,

    I've got a 2004 E60 535D M Sport. I've already had it re-mapped.

Is it worth fitting a straight through custom exhaust (decat etc) to the car??. Will i see even greater performance gains or would it not be worth it....not notice any difference??. I'm told it will reduce back pressure on the turbo's and allow them to spool up quicker.

Anyone got any experiance in this?. I've been quoted around £700 for a powerflow exhaust.

Any help, thoughts would be appreciated

    Cheers

While it may help with performance, if the new MOT laws come in then you would most probably fall foul due to having no Cat fitted.

Yes it is worth de-catting, BUT! there is a strong rumour going that as of next year, there will be a some new rules coming in in regards to MOT's. Basically a diesel car at present with a decat will still pass the MOT. But next year it may be possible that the new ruling will say that it will fail the MOT as the cat itself has been removed! So it may come about that you will need to keep the CAT if you do DE-CAT, so you can put it back on for MOT time.
