Hi to all, i have just bought a 2004 E46 330d and am generally very happy with the car. This is the very first bmw i have owned and also the first diesel i have owned and im impressed with the cars performance and the way it holds the road. I cant help thinking that it would benefit from a chip or re-map to gain a few extra bhp and improve the torque figures. I've only had the car a couple of weeks and know very little about which is the best way to go (chip or re-map). Can anyone shed any light on which is best and where to go to get this done. I feel that a plug in tuning box may be better as i can remove it, if and when i sell the car ? thanks Jon

Hi. you will have to go with a remap on this vehicle as chips are mainly for older managemant systems. I would strongly advise you not to get one of those tuning boxes as all they really do is throw more fuel in. Quality remaps have had lots of hours of testing put into the software to get the best, safest increase possible. I have a friend who is a rep for a remap company. He remapped my old passat tdi when i had it. You will not be dissapointed with it! Best to spend a few more quid on a quality remap considering you are messing around with ECU software i reckon.
