How far did you get with this OP??

Am also looking for a £300ish backbox form my 325ti Msport. I just called up Supersprint in Italy regarding the 787706 backbox and it's out of stock and out of production - so theres no way of getting it for €331 from them; although they do have 787759 instock for €336 which I think is the same back box but with a disgusting styled tip (could never put that on the car ).

If I had £600+ I would just get the Eisenmann, but really cant justify that money on a backbox right now. So Id be keen to hear if you've come across anything in the £300ish price range worth putting on the car.....

    Cheers

    I found out exactly that..

They sent me an email quoting £299 plus delivery for the nice backbox (twin tip), then sent me another email saying actually that price is for the disgusting looking one and that the nice one is out of production and they can't supply it!

I'm just not bothering too be honest.. Like you I would LOVE an eisenmann (especially after typing "325ti eisenmann" into youtube and watching a few vids ) but I'm not willing to pay the amount they cost for the minimal gains you get from it..

From what I can see no-one else (like scorpion, jetex etc) make anything for the E46 so I've given up!

I've ordered the chrome tips from Cotswold BMW and will be sticking with that.. after all if you open it up the standard exhaust doesn't exactly whisper!

Ive seen some reasonably priced Scorpion back boxes and cat-back systems on eBay. Listing says they fit E46 325i coupe/saloon/touring so my next step is going to get in touch with the seller/manufacturer regarding if these will fit on a compacts (how different can it be....??). I don't really know too much about the different exhaust manufactures, but have heard Scorpion crop up a few times in conversations at least.

EDIT: Okay made the call, and as you may already know, they dont fit compacts... back to square one... :/

I could have saved you a call mate.. If you look on realoem.com the E46 compact exhaust system is different to the rest of the series unfortunately!!!

Personally I wouldn't get a "custom" exhaust.. It's just a some universal parts they knock together in 30mins in the back then weld it on.. if it's done by a good welder then results can be OK, personally I'd still give them a miss.. longlife/powerflow etc has been done and I wasn't impressed!

I got an email from supersprint over the weekend saying the backbox is going back into production very soon, and will be back on sale at regular price (around €660 I think), and they will offer it with a 10% price reduction shortly.... still will be in the region of £600 I reckon with shipping.

Maybe if the money fairy pays me a visit or something......

Really does seem as though its this or the Eisenmann, and at £600 and £700 respectively.... the lack of options make me sad!
