Hello all, I'm new to the forum, just getting use to it all so bare with me

What component do you think will be the best for my car, the induction kit or just a performance air filter?
I am looking at buying the Pipercross VIS induction kit but I fitted my friends £20 air filter (metal cone) today and it sounded great. I don't know whether to spend the £300 on the kit or just the filter.

What do you think will be better for my car?
    Thanks, Jenny Lee

if its the induction noise you are after then make sure you use a decent cone filter...green cotton has been mentioned a few times on here, pipercross is another.
the metal filters dont keep out the smaller particles well enough.
a heat shield is another must have...coupled with a decent cold air feed
    what i've felt,what i've known
never shined through in what i've shown.

I had one of THESE on my previous car, don't believe to much about the quoted power increase but if you are looking for a nice growl/roar then you won't go far wrong with fitting this.

i have a BMC CDA, i havnt used it on my 318iS yet purely because there isnt enough room in the engine bay atm (i need to shorten the tubing from the inlet manifold), I did however have this fitted to my previous car which had a 2.2L engine, the BMC CDA was excellent I noticed a big improvement in power and the sound was awesome, not the same as the typical open cone filter, it was more of a deep growl

I highly recommend the BMC CDA, it is a lot of money, but its worth it :-)

dave f induction kit fitted to my 325ti.think i paid around £130 all in
nice deep growl but cannot really tell any difference on performance.
a tight fit with the cone filter, bottom of the heatshield needs a bit of rubber under it to stop it vibrating.
