    Hi folks,

recently got an e46 320cd and I am interested in getting a remap. Its an 04 plate (built Jul 04) with 55k.

    1) Does this mean this model will have the uprated turbo and swirl flaps therefore i wont need to worry (too much!!!) about them if getting a remap?

    2) I live just outside Glasgow, anyone recommend anywhere around Scotland in particular for a good safe remap? North of England would be fine too!!

    3) I have already checked with B for BMW (glasgow) they do remapping through 'Celtic Tuning' and can get it up from 150 bhp to 214bhp!!sounds great but is this really safe for clutches etc or is it just too much!!

    4) Finally if I am going for a remap is there any routine maintenence that I should carry out first? i.e. cleaning of anything, changeing filters etc.

Thanks a lot, good to get help from some people with bit of experience

even the later models have swirl flap issues so you should consider removing them or fitting a new inlet manifold for peace of mind. You should also look into getting the engine crankcase breather checked out if it's not been done regularly.

150bhp to 214bhp?? That's over 40% I'd be very careful with those people!

Cheers for the advice folks i reckon that the increase just seems too much so will be looking elsewhere. anyone any recommendations?

Also Ronnie I understand a new manifold was fitted in the cars from '04 on and was safer is this the case or just nonsense I have been hearing and i should really have these swirl flaps out?

    Thanks again

uprated inlet manifolds were fitted on later models, but there have even been failures of those unfortunately, so worth looking into having the flaps removed.
