I bought my E46 with 120k miles in November. The turbo failed at 130k and it is in the process of being refurbed to refit. I'm also cleaning a load of stuff out and fitting new breather etc as well as new filters etc and removing swirl flaps. I'm also taking the oppertunity to make some improvements, like fitting a decat instead of the standard downpipe/cat pipe thing.
So I'm thinking about getting the car remapped once all this has been done, but I wanted to find out some more about the risks of remapping a high milage car.
Now, the turbo will have been overhauled, the new breather on and swirls deleted, plus the decat. However the engine is pretty high miles now. So what risks are there? What might go wrong after the remap? How can I mitigate the risks?
All advice welcome, particularly from tuners providing this service.
