    Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and to BMW so go gentle.
I've bought myself a 2003 320td e46 Compact and with money being a bit on the tight side I am looking for cheap and easy mods to improve the performance, engine wise that is.
    Any ideas would be great.

    Cheers
    Si

Give angel tuning a ring a good remap would do it at a cost of around £275 and should give you another 50+LB FT torque

The best thing to do first is the map.. You should see very good gains in power, response and a gain on mpg..
    Thanks Mike

Ok, thanks for all the replies guys, I'm kinda a noob on BM's so this is all very appreciated.

So, I think I can do the Vortex Breather on my own and I should be able to do the Swirl flaps too. Mines a 2003 320td, I do have them right?? I'm reading that its best totally remove them and blank them off. Is that right? or should I replace them with new?

Also, what should I do, service wise, before I get the re map?

My plan is to do the Vortex Breather, Swirl Flaps, De Cat, Re Map and full service in the next few weeks, just after my MOT, I'm guessing De-Catting especially will cause me emissions problems on the MOT?

Is there anything I can do Air Filter/ Induction kit wise?? Sorry if that sound like a stupid question, but I've never tried tuning a Diesel before.

And does anyone have a rough price for a VB and a set of Swirl Flaps/ Blanks?

    Questions Questions Questions

    Thanks in advance
    Si

Check out forum member L16YD L pictorial guides for your 320d..

Vortex Oil Separator is approx £25 from dealers and swirl flap blanks £6 each from ebay, you'll need the smaller size blanks.

Personally I'd stay away from oiled aftermarket filters as if they're ever overoiled after cleaning they can play havoc with your sensitive MAF sensor.

Prior remap just make sure alls good with the car, regular oil and filter changes are a must in keeping the engine and Turbo in good operating condition.
