    Seems like a decent price for stainless.
    I have not heard about the soot issue, but you see alot of the newer cars with diesels and horizontal pipes for that more "sporty" look and they don't seem to have any trouble.

    Done this on my 330d, do get a nice WOOooo on gear changes. More audible to pedestrians than in the car, sounds meatier at tick over and starting up but still nice and quiet to drive.

    Have straight out exhaust tips too, have no issue with soot covering the back of the car. And just went through it's MOT last week with no issue.
