Thinking of replacing my back box with a 2000 328i one as its has the single connection pipe which I can use exhaust fit pipes to fit I am told. What I need to know is if a 2000 328i back box will have the butterfly flap? If so can I still fit it with no fault problems?

the flap isnt really needed and many remove the vac line and plug it with a golf tee (hence 'the golf tee mod.')
    what i've felt,what i've known
never shined through in what i've shown.

No - It's linked with throttle position. It works on a vacuum basis. At WoT, there's no vacuum, and the flap opens ! And closed throttle, there's high vacuum, pulling the flap shut.

OP - Don't worry about the flap. You won't have the vacuum pipe going to the rear anyway. Just stick the box on, and away you go
Just make sure of course, that the flap isn't stuck shut !
