    Hi All,

Just a quick question, I used to have a bmw e36 328, and I disconnected the vacuum line under the car next to the exhaust, as this leaves the exhause valve open at all times hence louder noise from exhaust, othervise the valve only opens at 3000rpm. I now have a e46 330ci and was wondering if i can do the same? Any suggestions? I have read that there you can unplug the actuator in the trunk in front of the drivers side tail light, but this was for a 335, I have not tried anything on mine yet but would be grateful if anyone can shed some light on this matter.

    Thanks

It's the same mod. Use a golf tee or something similar to block the pipe that you disconnect from the rear box.

    Hey,

Previously I have just taken the valve off from underneath the car besides the exhaust? Do i do the same thing?

I have been reading about the golf tee mod and it suggests that after pulling the tubing off, its best to put a ball bearing in and seal it. I dont understand this bit as i thought you can just pull the valve off?

    Appreciate any replies/comments

    Thanks

It's one or the other omey. You take off the vacumn pipe, stick a golf tee in it to seal it, and then zip tie the pipe away somewhere. The ball bearing method is to take off the pipe, stick a bb in to seal it, then push the pipe back onto the back box.
