not a huge amount compared to earlier 2.0s but still a nice change in the engine feel.
Response will increase so it'll feel sharper and lighter, often described as like some sort of woolyness has been removed from the drivetrain.
MPG won't change although I could try a pure economy map but you'd hardly notice it's there.

BHP would increase by about 10-12bhp at the redline, but then again, people don't drive at the redline, so that's why the "area under the graph" is more important, so you'll feel it all of the time rather than just the occasions when you are "on a promise".

As above.. its not about the pub talk numbers on that car... its the drive and feel the re-map will give..
    Thanks Mike

I have a E36 320is, What everyone says is roughly the same! I think the 2.0L bmws go bludy well for what they are! i suggest a smart twin exhaust system and a good quality air intake is about as much as you can do! a remap will change the cars feels a little! but to be honest its not worth the money as it will only effect the power in the red line, and give possibly mpg change!
Go for more handling upgrades, i raced an E36 325 at 190 bhp, a 1/2 mile straight, i was stuck on his arse like piles, but around the corners i managed to pass him!
    Go for handling fella!!
Bigger breaks and coilovers with some good little extras will sort you right out!

Hmm, that was kinda the opposite of what I was saying!
The older E36 320s did go better with a chip, and it isn't all just power at the redline, it is everywhere, so don't judge a remap on what the maximum number it had, but on the changes it makes!
