Changing pulley sizes on Supercharger can increase/decrease power too.
Does anyone know the realistic BHP figure you get from "Go faster Stripes"?
I'm seriously tempted
There is a genuine pulley upgrade for Jaguars (think I considered it from Paramount - a Jaguar tuning specialist down south). Cannot recall what the extra bhp extra was, but I'm guessing at about 45bhp IIRC and I think this is roughly right.
Quite few folks with R type Jags had this done and loved it. I decided against it as I could not justify spending what I recall around £700 for a pulley upgrade.
Trouble is these parts, when engineered correctly are very costly so anything floating around cheapish I would ignore. Also I cannot see how any pulley would be advantageous to a normal BMW (even if they are a bit lighter).
Lightweight pulleys give you no increase in power, they have a similar effect of a lightweight flywheel in reducing the effort the engine needs to move said parts, this in turn allows the engine to pick up the revs quicker. I used to run them on a zetec engine and the difference was little to none.
I've got 2-3 spare horsepower here send me £100 via paypal and i'll e-mail them to you
