im looking at servicing my car in the next few weeks,

just a general oil/filter change and am thinking of changing the air filter..

is it worth going for a k & n or stick with standard?? the k&n is over double the price so is it worth it??

TBh, I found my K&N great, BMW kept replacing them (no reason why everytime it went in it'd get changed for some reason), saved myself a fortune in changed filters, I got mine through GSF, good price, easy to fit. I felt, it gave me few more MPG, and was certainly easier to clean when I washed the car.

i didnt realise they sold them on gsf, they are a fair bit cheaper aswell!!

not sure whether to get a pipercross or an k&n, there a £13 difference in the price which is more than i would have thought!

Green Cotton Filters have been highly recommended, but are a bit more cash at £46 a pop (I think a Piper Cross is about £35 from GSF and tend to have a better reputation than K&N because they're not as oily).

I used to fit Piper Cross filters to my BMW MINI's and found they made a bit of difference at the top end and improved the MPG. I thought it was in my head, until I swapped back to a standard one when I sold the last one.
