Hey, looking to get a bit more power from my E46. I don't need a load more but it's frustrating having to drop 2 gears just to go up a bit of an uphill road.
This site is selling the K&N induction kit for £81.97 and was wondering what sort of improvement I'd be getting: performance-filters.co.uk
Also, what other reasonablly cost effectives ways of getting a little more power are there?
And before anyone says buy a more powerful car... no.
Well, in the long term I want to do everything to increase power (short of buying a new car or putting in a new engine). So, I was thinking of starting with the induction kit and then remapping further down the line, but I wanted to know if there was anything else I could do in the meantime.
Also, what sort of gains would I get. A general search on remapping these seems to be about a 12bhp and 5mpg gain but no mention of a quantified gain from an induction kit, if any.
to be frank your car is too heavy for the engine a remap will be unlikely to give you as much as 12hp and an induction kit can often lose power which is why I recommended an uprated panel filter from itg which will give a few hp and make the throttle response faster. But really the answer is a bigger engine or strip the unnecessary weight from the car.
Perhaps I'm being a bit dolsile, but I can only find ITG filters for 318 E46 and M3 E46. Not for a 316 E46
