Im looking at getting a cat back exhaust as ive just had a decat fitted and ive been looking around for off the shelf ones and ive seen the Blueflame one is a good choice for most and ebay seems to be the cheapest bet for these.

When i first got my 330d i took it down to my local custom/performance exhaust garage and asked if they could make a custom cat back for me. They can but they wanted to take it from a dual pipe system to just the one.
is this ok todo, or has it got the twin run system for a reason? if it goes down to the one pipe i presume the pipe needed will have to be bigger to make up for there not being two pipes anymore?

If its ok to take from a twin to a single run system. i can get the high flowing cat back made up for £200 fitted which is alot cheaper then the Blueflame.

Just need a bit of advice really,

    Cheers

Yes you can take it from 2 to 1 pipe, but the diameter would have to be increased to at least 2.75" I'd of thought.... Id think about cabin noise though, it'll boom through the cabin with no cats and a turbo back exhaust, you'd need to compromise... Or I suppose I'd need to! Lol hate cabin boom!

But no, the reason for the two exhausts on the oem exhaust is for flow through the cats, I'm sure i've seen eBay vids of 3" turbo back exhausts, might be worth a search?

i think in house they only go up to 2.5" so the custom exhaust might be out of the question from them... they could do a twin run system like oem but that doubles the price, so might as well get the Blueflame. id love an Eisenmann exhaust but i dont fancy the £800 price tag for just a back box lol.

i made my own exhaust, i used 63mm or 2.48" pipe it was abit tricky to make but i got there in the end. i made it out of mild steel as stainless was to expensive at the time. iv got a 3" back box it sound realy good, not loud inside car, you can hear the turbo spooling, and has a low grumble to it. the car feels like it has alot more touqe, i plan to get it rr to find out what the increse in power is.
