Hi guys, I have a Superchips ECU and a BMC Carbon airbox which the previous owner installed about a year ago. I just have a few quick questions:

Are the Superchip ECU's any good for the E46 330's? Or would I be better off getting a re-map from someone like E-maps?

Would I notice any difference in performance and fuel consumption by going with the E-maps or other re-map?

    Thanks

the difference between standard vs remapped is hardly noticable, there is a bit more power, mainly low down torque but i think its mainly in the head just thinking its faster really! lol

the difference you will see between super chipped and remap'd will be completly waste of money.

We did a car for BMW car mag (Staff car) He is over the moon with it.. Yes the numbers are not big, Improved response mid range torque and raised rev limit.. He used to see 30/31 mpg now he is seeing 33/34mpg down to the fact of a smoother drive with less flat spots in it..

So for £200 all in yes well worth doing
    Thanks Mike

It's OK on a stock/ standard car, certainly decent value for money even if it isn't big power like on a diesel,
but on one already mapped by Superchips, any differences after that are going to be even less, and value for money isn't going to be great.

It's something to consider, and no doubt you will have an improvement but you'll need to weigh up the price compared to the benefits.

    Hi MotechMike

What car did you remap and get those MPG figs from? any idea what the improvement would be on a 330ci sport auto? Doing alot of motorway miles at the min so seeing ave 23mpg on 97ron fuel. What sort of power gains can I expect?

on a motorway a 330 should get 32-38 mpg on the on board computer, how accurate that is who knows though.
