    lookin to buy an induction kit for my 2001 e46 330ci. does it really make a difference wether i go for a cheaper kit off ebay or a main stream make such as k&n. also does it make much difference with a heat sheild, any and all adive would be much appreciated cheers

    Without doubt you will need a heatshield otherwise its more detrimental as you will be sucking hot air from the engine into the manifold and hot air is not good for combustion so you'll lose HP.A heatshield and cold air feed will help you maximise the potential of an induction kit or else its just a lot of noise.........

    If you want my advise i'd not use anything cheap, espically with no heatshield, it'll just make the car worse, you'll be taking horses away
