    Hey,
I'm living in Dublin and want to have my ecu remaped. There seems to be plenty of reputable vendors in the uk but can anyone recommend one in /Ireland?
I'm looking for a tuner who specialises in BMW's not just the usual bunch out there who so a basic tune for any car.
    Thanks for any help...

    Hi,
Sorry buddy but don't know of anyone in Ireland I'm afraid.
I hope one of the fellow tuners can help?? or if you can get the car to the mainland then no problem.

    Cheers

Joe Power ( appropriate name!) remaped my e46 320cd over a year ago. It went from 150 hp to 203 hp. This was great but he did increase torque from 260 Ftlb to 360ftlb. The problem was it went from 210Ftlb to 360 Ftlb in the space of 200rpm. The torque curve was practically vertical. This was to vicious for the clutch which started to slip. He did soften the torque between 2000rpm and 2500rpm but he didn't bother putting it on the dyno again to tweak it so it was just guess work. The car now is a bit flat at around 2000rpm which I think could have been remedied by a bit of tweeking. But on a positive note he gave me lots of advice about the car and it has been running fine for over a year now. And it is effing quick. One point though mate, non turbo engines don't really give big increases for a remap. Not really worth the expense

Sorry just to clarify I would recommend Joe highly. Apart from that glitch he was excellent. Lots of advice about halfing the service intervals and told me how to change the oil separator and the mpg went up by 2 mpg after the remap too. So I would go back to him again.

Cool I wasn't sure after your first post.

I know there wont be much of a gain with a re map, what I am really looking for is an off the shelf map which would be cheap. this way the fuel savings would pay for it in time and I'd still get a little extra power.

I have a turbo lying around somewhere that i'd love to get in but i cant afford the rest of the parts

some day or maybe ill just go back to the jap cars...
