Im just curious really. Ive changed from a 1.9Tdi Audi A3 to the 320d compact. The Audi was the 130bhp version with the addition of an ECU remap. This really improved the flat spots when accelerating but effected the MPG slightly. Other than that the performance of the car was noticeably greater. The Audi had around 140 000 miles on the clock and the reliability of the car was still as good as it was before the map.
Im looking at a possible remap on the 320d to help gain a little more out of it. even though its the 150 it still feels like a bit of a barge at times and the turbo lag is huge compared to my last motor. Im just a little concerned that this will cause issues. The milage on the BMW is again close to 140 000. Knowing that the swirl flaps and turbo are common failing points on this model would a remap be likley to enhance the risk of them failing? Im not looking into side street tuners, im looking into profesional tuning companies.
If any one has any experiance in this matter or can share some advice id greatly appreciate it.
