i wont personaly remap them because they are non turbo so you will be only looking around 15 bhp more and that price is too much

    hello vinayk,

What is 15bhp in terms of power? Is it noticeable? I had a quote for £269 inc vat using evolutions chips device. The other one is autologic for £364.

    Thanks,

    Ed

As already said by mike, it is worth doing to make the car feel better and more responsive.
If you use one of us forum vendors you'll find the price to be a bit cheaper!

I asked this exact same question about my E92 320i at the garage today! (they specialise in re maps) I was informed not to bother, if i had a 320d i was told it could be as powerful as a 330d but a 320 petrol i wouldn't see much benefit

I have a 2003 318i Touring and its sluggish until 2000rpm - Will a remap sort this out? Prepared to pay £250+ just to sort this out

You'll never be able to compare petrol to diesel remapping in a £ to bhp ratio but a couple of my mates have had their
petrols remapped/rechipped and its the throttle response and overall smoothness of the drive they comment on and,
in their opinion, well worth the fee

    Just my twopeneth

Possibly, it will add a bit more kick and response over the rev range, but it would need to be confirmed that there isn't something else causing it.
A remap could certainly attempt to hide a problem, but if something is causing it it's best to get that fixed beforehand.
Most tuners will carry out diagnostics too, both for the customer, and to cover themselves for any previously existing problems.

Hello guys thank you so much for all that discussions. Got one more question, what is the credibility of evolution chip for remapping? It gave me details of increases of bhp and torque.

    Many thanks,

    Ed
