Hi is the ex9 e90/92 shorter in height?? Then the standard e46 shifter? Found this site saying e60 shifter will be a short shift and lower in height for e46, I have e60 shifter from my BMW dealer but it looks the same as my original one, can someone tell me if the part numbers are right? Will be taking it back and getting ex9 shifter later today, here is the link to a e46 short shifter so say using a e60 shifter.

The height doesn't alter much between the stock BMW shifters, it's the length of the stick under the nylon ball - the E9x ones are slighter longer (but not so long they foul the driveshaft) to mean more leverage, so a shorter gearstick movement.
