thanks TheEnd.. Im not really into altering things much from standard, not a speed freak any more, rather have reliability... but would prefer not to have shite exhaust gasses going back in the engine if you know what I mean..

I'd try block, then partial, and then leave alone, more for just the sake of keeping the intake clean.

You mean vacuum pipe and yes golf tee in vac pipe and electricians tape over male connection on EGR valve,
then tie wrap vac pipe to EGR connection to stop it flapping about and getting damaged.

    Update!

Removed the vacuum pipe (air pipe as I called it ) and did what slowtech showed in the pic (thanks mate)

Took her for a run and didn't notice any different at first but after a mile or 2 she seemed to be more quick off the mark with the acceleration.

    No dash lights on............................yet!

Now just one thing this will not melt my turbo or anything? Sorry to ask these silly questions but I really don't know a lot about cars and I have learned more off here in the last 2 years then I have in the 20 years of driving

Nope, the EGR lowers temps on occasions, it's a bonus, not an expectation, so it'll handle it being disconnected without any problems.
