my mate in work who has the exact same car as me has just got a cat back powerflow exhaust fitted for £160 which is a good price undoubtedly but what are peoples general opinion on these exhausts??

i had a powerflow backbox on my old escort and it was ok but that was just an escort so there was no way i was going to pay mega bucks for anything more expensive!

my work mate says it hasn't negatively effected performance and too be fair it certainly looks better than the stock exhaust!!

has anyone else ever fitted a powerflow system to a BMW??

the place my mate got his fitted have got a good reputation, I know a mate of mine trusted his golf mk2 g60 one edition to them and they didn't let him down!!

might get myself a twin tailpape backbox just to fill the gap in my back bumper! can't go wrong £90 for a back box fitted can you? :D

replacement backbox fitted for £90 or cat back system for £160??

take into account my cars only a 1.8 N/A engine and the cat is near the middle of the car..

i had one fitted on a gt4 celica a few years ago and was pleased with the result so took my e36 328 and asked about a back box for it just to release a bit more of that sweet straight 6 rumble. Because its a twin system it'll be 200 quid which compared to 450 ish for a standard back box aint bad so will be going for it soon. its all down to your budget but i think their great value for money.

the place that i'm considering going to offer 3 "notes", basically quiet, mid-range and corsa style rattling the whole car!

I think i've found somewhere better anywhere, a place called Pro Speed in Cardiff if anyones ever heard of it??

They design and manufacturer all there exhausts in house so no pre-made powerflow type exhausts, they do charge almost double what the powerflow place do for just a backbox though!

Ive got a Powerflow twin pipe which i brought, and fitted my self with dad. Was easy to fit, sounds lovely (not to ott). will get some pictures up tomorrow morning on here with a small video with the sound if you want!

Not at all fitted the exhaust start of jan and its just flown through its MOT without any problems! Welding on the system was spot on, checked it all out before i fitted. Was custom made, so fitted like a glove! Mounted on the inside of the battery case and the 2 other original mounting points! ive got a how to i was going to put together, as i was re-doing all my parking sensors aswell. Cut with a grinder just after the cat, filed it smooth, pipe just slid over the top with some fire putty then used an exhaust clamp! perfect. :)

they wouldn't do one for me. The bloke was rude. - one stop crewe.
i pointed out that the powerflow website states that they make bespoke and custom built exhausts. he told me that they didn't for every car!! if you are good enough to make a bespoke exhaust you certainly can make it for any car.
very dissapointing - i shalt be using them.

i have a powerflow on mine and it is spot on driving on the motorway at 70 you can't hear it but when you want to put your foot down it has a lovely bark.

Here's a video of it on the rolling road on saturday which isn't the best as the rr fan was really loud will get a video from behind the car later.

I had a powerflow exhaust fitted to my E46 328i and found the quailty to be poor, it sounded good but i found the pipe had a few holes and was showing signs of rust!!!

so i am now building my own exhaust at work using 316l stainless, im going for a 14" long 6" dia tube with a 3" single tail pipe.... should be finished and fitted by the new year
