    Good afternoon all!

I have a 320d which I am trying to connect a ELM327 usb ODBII reader to and I am not getting much luck.

I have all the right settings for it but I am getting 'UNABLE TO CONNECT TO ECU' shown.

Is there anyone out there that has experience in this matter that would be able to help?

    THanks in advance!

The OBD2 readers will only work on petrol BMWs from about 2001, for a diesel, you'd need to wait until 2004 onwards.

^ what he said x2. No diesel BMW before 2004 can be read by a generic OBD2 reader. Try a Peake tool. Not sure about an INPA one, maybe someone can advise.
