No, I'm pretty sure it won't - you might have to look at some of the aftermarket ones - like UUC or similar.

The Shift lever is from a E92 330Xi Coupe is this correct as the diagrams are totally different for my 330 coupe

    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=WE91&mospid=50512&btnr=25_0428& hg=25&fg=05&hl=10????

Has anyone actually used the E92 lever from this forum? I can't judge if Paddy2besure has or not as he has only stated he has done the mod which fixes the sloppyness.

Please could someone advise as last thing I want to do is screw my gearbox/driveshaft up.

Do you actually have to change the shift lever to fix the sloppyness or is that just a mod for shorter shift change???

    Many Thanks
I'm going to do this mod on my E46 325i as the throw is far too long for my liking.

Do i need these bits as well?

Hi is the ex9 shorter in height?? Found this site saying e60 shifter will be a short shift and lower in height for e46, I have e60 shifter from my BMW dealer but it looks the same as my original one, can someone tell me if the part numbers are right? Will be taking it back and getting ex9 shifter later today, http://www.diymybmw.com/e46/short-shifter/

Spoke to BMW yesterday The e46 330i, e46 330d and e46 320d use the same standard shifter so any shifter from these models should make a short shifter for e46 m3,

all the parts listed above, are they for the e46 to use the gearlever? or are they all for the e92xi, and other parts needed for the e46 on top of this? mine is a 2000 323ci, and was wondering if all the parts above will work on my car?

I have fitted a z4 3.0 shifter to my 2001 320d it seams spot on, dose not hit the prop, gear stick is sitting lower, the changes are nice and tight between gears,

Just got my quote from bmminiparts £46! for all the above. but my question is,, is the bottom of this shifter between the ball and the very bottom the same distance as the 330d, or is it a little longer like the z4 3.0 one in the pic?, as the longer this section the quicker the throws will be!?

    Hmmmmm, interesting.

I was looking into short shift kits today - on realoem there are two for the 325ti; a reinforced one and a short kit. Is this the same for you's Ben?

I have no idea which my car has as standard or if it can canabalsed to include the 330d shifter or the E92x to shorten the shift further. But think it is definitely worth looking into.

I want to refresh the gear shift on my car because it is a bit sloppy these days. All the parts listed against the BMW short shift cost less than an after market one (about £130 for all the parts in the realoem drawing http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...75&hg=25&fg=05 ). Or do I just need to do certain parts to shorten the linkage and get rid of the sloppyness?
