Have you checked the subframe? Mine does the samemy local garage had up on a ramp and showed me the proble. The subframe has sheared off and resting on the chassis. My garage won't repair it, so now looking for a local reputuable garage to fix it. Been told all of the transmission has to be removed so they can weld a plate. Not considered taking it to a main dealer, as you can guess it won't be cheap.

thanks guys, but have already said it went away after i tightened all the rear arm bolts. the subframe is alright, i constantly check this any way. the car is a jun 2000, so by rights it should be ok as affected cars are to mar 2000(supposedly).
