That pipe will remove the front downpipe cat. It will offer better exhaust flow across the rpm range. As others have stated, it is fine for MOT. Removal of the stock pipe might prove to be a little bit of a pain for you as the cat limits the space with which to work. Fitting a replacement such as the one in the link is much easier as more space to work in bolting it onto the turbine housing.

Upside is now you know how to do the filter

Before you mod faster, I would make good / mod handling. Power is nothing with out control.

After the above, remap would be a good way of getting power gains.
Hi, can anyone tell me if my year of BMW needs the Swirl flaps replacing- It's a E46 320D 2003

You should remap her and see what you feel like after that and if you want to progress further

Also, shout out to Leicester BMW's

    Hello
i have been doing a little research into modding the 320d's my self.
i have found a few ways of boosting the power of the old turba derv lump,
from a company called turbo dynamics you can by a hybridised turbo for the car for a round £850 (there web page is www.turbodynamics.co.uk) that should give a healthy boost in power, i have also seen on ebay k and n panel air filters ,decat exhuast pipes and uprated intercoolers which all combined should give a very healthy boost in power, a throttle responce kit on ebay should also help as it has 3 presset levels from econimy to sports, i have been told about cold air induction kits but have not been able to find any as yet.

lowering the old girl should help with handling abit aswell

do you no what bhp you are running standard?

hope this info is help full to you
