Hey all, I hope this is the right section,

My exhaust baffles have gone in my back box so need a replacement, I was looking at getting a sportex exhaust but I was told that they don't make one to fit the 316 1.9 but the 1.6!

So does anyone have any recommendations for a aftermarket back box to fit my car?

    Thanks alot

As far as i know, all compacts have have the same M43 engine & the same exhaust ..... (1.6, 1.8, 1.9)

I guess 1.9 just means it probably has extra cat's to silence the exhaust even more..... (You can always check by look under the car)

Have you tried "Cybox" on ebay? as i've heard good things about it.

That's pretty much what I thought. And having looked under it looks like from pics it should fit, just having spoken to sportex they said it's diffrent?

I haven't no but I will check them out thanks for the recommendation.

It's been a while and decided to hold out untill a really needed the exhaust, and tonight it's developed a nice big hole, cybox don't seem to have a exhaust for my car, (need to phone them)
Will a 318i compact exhaust fit?
And does anyone have any other shuggestions? If not ill have to go standard exhaust :(

Hi there, you can get any exhaust that you like and maybe go to an exhaust shop to fit it with minor mods such s twisting the pipes a bit and fits perfectly, i swapped my 316i engine with the S50B32 evo M3, the original car was e36 4 door, and still fits in the compact after shortening it and the back box was a pain in the backside, but exhaust shop guy asked me do you like car looks or car performance, i told him performance is mine, so now the exhaust tips are a bit shifted to the right, but final result with a little twist all fits fine,

So a bit of a update for anyone that's intrested.

I done some sluthing and found out the the part numbers for the 318ti compact and the 316i compact for the exhaust was exactly the same!
So I took a punt and ordered a 318ti one from Cybox and fitted it last night with out any problems.

So here's confirmed proof that the 318ti and the 316i compacts exhausts are the same

Thanks for all your help and hope this helps someone.
