I couldn't comment on the companies you mention, but autos are supposed to change gears smoother when dealers do it.

I have looked further into this and it is apparently to take advantage of a remap offered by company. They claim that it will increase the revs at which the gear changes, as the rev limit is increased in the remamp, and increase speed of changes. Whilst also locking the gears in manual mode so that the car does not change up manually.

Obviously if i was to want top get my car remaped i would take advantage of the companies affiliated with the forum, and i am in no way trying to advertse the companies i mentioned. I was just interested if this was posible and if you would realistically get any advantages from it.

When you say when dealers do it, have there been any upgrades offered software wise ,and do the boxes need recalibraded or adjusted at any time in there life.

Sometimes the gear change gets clunky after time, usually most noticable on the downchange from second to first. The newer software overcomes this.

What upgrades does it offer exactly? I have no idea!

I would however change the autobox oil after ten years or 100k miles, lifetime fill or not.
