    if you look at the dipstick the oil is half way between the middle block on the dipstick! i have put 6.4 litres in.

    With out sounding quip, where do you think? I presume you have left it to settle after running before measuring? The oil filter and cooler can consume a lot of oil after a fill

    well watching a video on youtube the guy says top of the block! and 6 1/4 litres he put in, i have put 6.4 and its the middle of the block. yes i have let it settle
    look at the pic, mine is the red line, his is the blue line, whats correct?

    In the middle. Then check it again after you've driven it next. Top up if needed.

    Ideally it needs to be at the top notch/cutout but the way dipsticks are marked out is to give you a safe running level for the oil so anywhere in between the high and low is acceptable
