was driving home today with the passenger window open, when ever i pressed the acelerator there was a quick low pitch squeel, but it was like a blip as it accelerated!, but i also found that i can keep the sound constant if i hold the car at certain low revs, say 1.5k, its sounds like its from the engine compartment. i can get the sound when the car is stationary, and holding revs. the sound is like a dry bearing??but its only there like i say at a certain rev band?

Could be something dry in the serpentine belt tensioners/idler pulley system. Mine squeals sometimes when it's really cold outside but goes away after a min of driving.
Try testing with the A/C on and off, if goes away with A/C off, it points finger at A/C compressor bearings.

Get a willing / trustworthy volunteer to hold the revs at the "squeel" point whilst you have a butchers/listen in the engine bay. I'm still betting tensioner/pulley bearings are ill.
    Is your noise like this:

not as dramatic as that!, it doesn't pulse, and the noise is a squeel with out pulse only around 1.5-2k revs.

with an assistant on throttle duty, can you narrow noise down to coming from the serpentine drive belts' area?
