Both theses cars are the m52 engine,(year 2000) iirc. So what are the differences between them, eg, if it is the same engine, what in side gives it the bigger bore? and the more important power increase? could i make my 323 in to a 2.8?

It doesn't say if the engines are the same,eg block and head or what the differences internal/externaly if they are the same block and head are, all it does say is that the 328 has square bore and stroke. ????? what does that mean?
I was thinking may be the pistons and rods were different, and also the liners. does any1 know?

If they are like the early M52's with single vanos the the differences are not that much
    crankshaft, rods, injectors

your probably better off swaping the complete motor or if you have to build one the M54 3.0 litre crankshaft, rods, pistons would give you 3.0 litres with the standard size bore

but do your homework first as I could be wrong
