    Hi all,

I need to replace my rare shocks before my MOT but dont know if i should just replace them with normal shocks or upgrade them. Also what will the difference be by upgrading the shocks if any?

    thanks

shock absorbers are the main thing affecting ride tbh...they control how the spring rebounds but also affect how it feels in bump too.
uprated shocks can give a harsh ride if not used in conjunction with similarly uprated springs.
a good compromise is the koni fsd or monroes cheaper equivalent, the reflex.

i have recently purchased some m3 sunflower alloys for my car. will put them onto the car on the weekend. i might lower the car depending how the car sits. if i was to lower the car would it be good to upgrade the shocks or would it be fine to just replace the shocks with standard ones and just upgrade the springs?

how low do you want to go?
an eibach pro kit will work well with std dampers...any lower and you will want shortened stroke dampers
