    Hi folks
    Just aquired an add on module to increase performance of my 1998 523 tourer. The module fits onto the air intake temp sensor near the air box.. any one know what it looks like??? i not sure if i have the correct one

    soory if ths has been threaded before.

    The air intake temp sensor is integrated into the MAF. What is this module you are talking about?

    The air intake sensor iirc is just past the MAF and before the throttle body.
    I could be wrong though.

    please tell me you havent bought one of those ebay diodes...

    They are NOT GOOD!

    yes I got it from an ebay shop per4mance.co.uk its a diode which fits on to the ait sensor an is suposed to tell the ecu that the air temp is very cold....
    Bit worried if u say they are not good... why? i havent touched the car yet but i dont think its going to fit somehow....

    I would have preferred a remap or chip ,but been told by a local tunning company that little can be done for the 523 engine.... thanks for helping

    mate, take what ever you've bought and bin it! it will only do harm, not good. it tricks the engine into thinking its running colder than it is, the ECU then chucks more fuel in and your car runs very rich-not good.

    correct, and you end up buying a Catalytic converter because yours got killed
