I'm interested in doing this but have a few questions,

    1) If I get hold of a M50 Manifold, which seem easy enough to come by, can I just use a kit off eBay to complete the job?
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-M50-vacuum...item19bd68104e

    2) Is the M50 Throttle Body better than the M52 one?

    3) How long does the job take?

    4) Is it a hard job, or just time consuming? What should I be expecting?

    Cheers,
    Nick.

RJB has put up a how-to guide on how to do the conversion. Its fairly straight forward and will take around 4 hours to do.I believe that when RJB changed the throttle body it gave much improvement

Thanks, it's a good guide. I've read various opinions on the throttle bodies.

Just want to know about the eBay kit really, if that's okay to use?

I believe that kit is the one RJB used and he said that although the 328 throttle body looks identical to the M50 one but the M50 made a huge difference...Might be best to wait till he is online to see what he says though

Interesting. I didn't use the M50 TB when doing the conversion. There WAS a reason for this, but I've forgotten why. Will probably investigate when I do the ASC delete.

Its a pretty straight forward job if using a conversion kit, but its one of those ones that you get to a certain point, stand back and think, is this really all going to go back together?

    Its worth it though.

The M50 body is exactly the same size as the 328 body so won't give any improvement at all.
