    This has been a very good thread and i have enjoyed reading this.......but would it not have been more unique, and reliable to fit the 4.4 V8 from the 540? With all the engine mods (and an impressive list they are) it would have surely cost less to source a V8, get some engine mounts fabricated etc etc and you would have bags of torque with a standard engine, without wringing the neck of the 328......and loosing it reliability.....which inevitably it will.

    What 540 tb are u using mate? Because I want a larger body for my 325 but not sure as to which tb of a v8 lump will fit. had a look on real oem and the diagrams arent the best.

    good plan tho

    Ah I see, fair play. And presumably with that mod as opposed to just swapping with the 325 manifold you wouldn't have the loss of low down torque that mikaveli was talking about? Good luck with the project

    Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if this has been done before, and if it's possible?

    Yea it has mate. Just have a look on youtube for the v12 e36 compact. its evil!
