    Hello all,

this is my first posting and hoping you proud BMW owners can help me.

I have a 318 tds Compact (1998-R reg). Good car, very robust but very under powered. Losing speed on motorways when on a uphill.

My good freind suggested that I replace the chip and increase the BHP.

How can I source the chip? Could anyone help me fit this in my car. Also does this in anyway damage the engine?

    please advise.

much appreciated for all you help in advance

    regards

    Thanks

I do now understand some issues-

All my injectors are fine / systems are fine / no smoke coming out

but would like to still have some oomph to get me going on uphills on a motorway

    thanks in advance

I'd suggest getting the fault codes read for the car first, even though it's only a 318 diesel it shouldn't be that gutless IMO

Otherwise get a remap if everything is fine see here http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/f113/ or http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/f116/
