    Hi Guys

    Can anyone help me out?

    I have a 97 E36 328i which i beleave has a 2.93 ratio diff (med case). Want to upgrade to the 3.23 ratio M3.

I have found a Diff out of the 3.2 M3 with the 3.23 ratio, is this a straight swap?

Any help, advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Neil

    Hi Neil,

The 3.23 out of an M3 Evo won't fit unless you also change the diff carrier sub frame too.

However, the 325 (non-LSD) and 3.0l M3 (LSD) diffs will fit - though with the M3 diff, you will need to swap over the output flanges. The M3 is 6 bolt but the 328 is 4 IIRC. These diffs are a 3.15 ratio.

Also, see my guide for further options / info.

    Hope this helps.
