Just putting the feelers out to your knowledgable ppl, about upgrading the exhaust on my 328i coupe.
The Car has had the nikasil block replaced (now alusil ?), and has had the M50 manifold/throttle body conversion plus a K&N filter on housed in a nice carbon fibre housing
The bloke I bought it from said the conversion had been done by previous owner who was admin on some M3 forum, and was done really well, but he didnt mention a remap (although my local bmw indy took it for a spin after inspection2 and said he believed it had been remapped from the way it performed).
So, I have been thinking about the next step for tuning, and maybe an exhaust would be a decent performance gain for the money ?
    Any advice ppl please ?
I'm not looking for a loud noise, if it stayed like the standard one I have I would be happy, am just looking for BHP gains. Any help on what is the popular choices for my car would be appreciated, I have looked at a few (on google) and they all just quote 'really nice loud sporty sound' etc and nothing about the BHP gains, hence my enquiery here for you lads & lasses opinions / experience
    Thanks

I got my my exhaust built by my local custom chrome franchise, they did a full system from the downpipes back including 2x100 cell sports cats, the exhaust is not that much louder than standard although its got a nice deep tone rather than the raspy sound the old knackered bmw system had and has improved mid range grunt as well as liberating some useful bhp at the top end. the car was receintly rolling roaded at a local firm and produced 315bhp at the flywheel which is pretty healthy for a 3.0 e36 m3 in anyones book, the only other mod is a k&n panel filter

    Thanks ppl :0
@ dk - I heard the scorpion tailbox was quite loud ?

@ mark - Mind me asking how much it cost for your complete system ?
My car is roughly 220BHP so am thinking maybe it will add another 10bhp or maybe 15 what you reckon ?

The standard exhaust system on the 328 is already a pretty good design so i would be surprised if you made more than a few more BHP.

i think you should check if it has been remapped, and if not, do a remap, it will give more hp than any exhaust. as mentioned, the standard exhaust is already pretty good. exhaust wise, you might look for some good headers, they also give some nice hp in the high end. but best bet, power wise, should be a remap imo.

You could fit an M3 system on.You would need the complete system though-manifolds,cats and back box...

There must be something more to your car Mark Bearmore as thats a very high figure to quote.

That is in M3 Evo territory.

An exhaust and K&N will not see that power, so i wonder what else has been done.
