On www.BMconversions.co.uk it can be seen that the M50 manifold is bigger but one of the recomended garages on this site (in Herts) said it is smaller?
If anyone has had this done, where did you get the parts and what was the cost.
Just been wondering about the throttle body upgrade. How much bigger the throttle body goes? How much is the inner bore increased by?

The modified body is 3mm bigger. This may not sound much, but it will allow up to 15% more airflow.

when I had a look at the M50 manifold on my new engine and the throttle body, I measured it and it seemed that the inner bore of the body could be increased by 5mm in diameter. this way it would sit flush with the main hole of the manifold. or did i measure wrong?

You should be using the M52 body, not the M50 body.

I am talking about the increase in butterfly size, not where it simply bolts up.

Get a straight through exhaust system, good air filter and then get it re-maped.

Fairly cheap if you look about for second hand exhaust on ebay and im pretty sure theres a good tuning company that re-map most cars in tonbridge kent!!!
