    Hi all,

I have a 328i converti P reg, i am looking to obtain the maximum power output from my engine it has done 83k miles.
What mods can i undertake to get the best power range out of the engine (im not looking to go down the supercharge route as of yet)
In terms of cams, induction kits, manifolds etc.

    Cheers

was thinking of this option mate, but ive spent a bit on the bodywork and wheels etc so dont really want to change the car yet.
I was thinking of m3 engine conversion but they seem expensive enough to get, any recommendations maybe?

Sounds like Morgan's car. Underdrive pulley's, exhaust, fan delete and changing the ratios by fitting the M3 3.0 LSD would also help!

Well, you've got two fairly cost effective routes:

    1 - Fit a e36 3.0L M3 engine (allowing you to retain you're current wiring and gearbox).

2 - Do the standard list:
    • Cold air induction - minimal effect.
    • M50 Manifold and Big Bore throttle body - 25 ish BHP
    • Free flow exhaust and decat - minimal effect.
    • US Spec M3 cams - circa 10 bhp.
    • Chip/remap - circa 10 bhp.

Option 2 should give around 240 at the crank, costing around 2 - 2.5k. You can start doing the fan delete, injectors, custom ecu etc, but that's even more cost for little benefit.

My advice, contact Alpin527 on here if your serious - and just get the manifold, BBTB and remap done - less than a grand well spent.
