I'm the owner of a metallic green 1997 E36 323ti compact with only 93000km (that's about 60000miles).It's completely stock, but I would like some more acceleration. I don't want to change a lot about my engine, so I was thinking about a changing my differential. I've been looking up some info and if I'm correct, my car has a 3.07:1 differential. Because the E36 compacts use the E30 suspension, I would change it to a E30 M3 differential wich is a 3.25:1. Could anybody confirm if this info I collected is right, and even more important will this make a noticable difference, because it's only a 7% difference? I know my topspeed will drop, but I don't care. I like acceleration more ;-)
If anybody has another ID for better acceleration I'm all ears. I know about the M50 manifold mod, but I want to keep the low down, torque karakter of this car.
