    will an e36 320 coupe exhaust backbox fit straight onto a 323 coupe?
    bore of the pipe the same and the mounting plate the same?

    No worries mate. I just checked my exhaust book and they share the same Walker part numbers.....
    I changed the title of the thread as well mate, just in case anyone else asks in the future....

    To add another question to this thread, would the catalytic converter system from an e36 320i m50 fit a e36 323i m52 please?

    Its a cheap second hand (6000 miles roughly) sports cat to avoid confusion to why im asking.

    It will fit. You will just have to fit a bung to the lambda sensor hole in the 320 front pipe...

    Superb news! thank you very much for confirming that Steve, I also didnt realise it had a lambda hole just infront of the cat so another thanks for the info. I will block the hole with a bolt

    You should be able to get a proper lambda sensore plug from a motor factors. They are only a couple of quid....
