    It doesn't.

If you want to increase power your looking at cams, custom exhaust manifold, bbtb, remap. Personally id make it more drivable i.e. suspension, bushes, diff, Z3 short shifter and Z3 steering rack

Bigger bang for buck, you'll be looking for a Downing Atlanta Super Charger or if your handy with a spanner build a kit yourself using a mini cooper S eaton charger or something similar - est 200bhp with the above mods to

Massive bang for massive buck, turbo. The hard part is getting a custom manifold and mapping but you can go for really big power. Would suggest some engine rebuild work though. There was a guy in Greece running an iS at 500bhp with a turbo, that was mad.

Sorry to do a thread resurrect but I wanted to ask a question...

My 1998 318is (reg'd 1999 but built late '98) has a sensor on the top airbox (presumably intake temp sensor??). If you fit an induction kit, where do you plug that sensor wire in???
