Hi im jsut after any opinions and views on things like this:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...link:middle:uk

Its a performance chip that is suposed to give you more HP and Torque.

Is something like this legit, or is it a load of rubbish, if its legit, can it damage the engine in any way?

    Thanks

Wouldnt touch it with a barge pole Mate-anything that cheap ain't going to do s**t and read his reviews carefully especially the BMW ones where they say they noticed no difference.
Besides you can have yours remapped-its only pre 95/96 cars that have to be chipped.
Would give that a miss if I was you

I am sure you could go down that route but be VERY CAREFUL you could do more harm than anything else-on the safeside look up emaps or motechmike in these forums. If you go down to the bottom of this page to forums jumps you will find them in the list on there at the bottom

Had a look around a while back and remaps ~£300 are quoted at giving 7-9 extra hp on a 316i. If you get it done it'd be interesting to see how noticeable difference is.

It's really not worth getting a 316i remapped or chipped for the very small power increase you will get IMO, much better off saving the money towards a bigger engined car or engine conversion
