Hi folks. I've recently done the M50 manifold conversion with bigger T/B on my 328i Touring and am happy with the overall result.
I've been thinking of doing the fan delete mod next (fan noise really does my head in lol) Has anybody done this, have you encountered any problems since? It seems pretty straight forward and I've found a good guide to doing it (check link) but just thought I'd ask here first!

should be all good mate! something that I am going to do when I get paid as the standard fan is pretty useless and removing this from the belt drive will also improve throttle response and remove rotating inertia which in theory will give you more power.... won't be much but every little helps

Although my conversion will not need the messing about of changing the thermostat, fan switch, etc etc.... Will be a case of removing the OEM Fan completely! and installing one of these: http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/14-inch-fan14-761-p.asp that comes on when the engine coolant temp hits 80D C

i wouldnt just remove fan talk about risking your engine .
but have changed from viscous fan to electric fan and did rev slightly more freely but 8bhp as mentioned in link bit optimistic...... that said worth doing though
    just for quieter engine

late e36 came with electric fan so parts would be easy and late rad has temp switch in so you would just need wiring kit
