Hey! My exhaust is looking a little shabby and I'm thinking of getting a new one. However, I don't want a stick one anymore I want something a little more throaty. However, being a car noob, I have no idea of quality.
    Basic rules:
I've only got a rear bumper capable of holding a single exhaust end.
I don't want stupid "moped" noise, more refined, throaty sound that gives it some once it gets up higher RPM
Cost isn't TOO much of an issue, however, I don't want to be spending stupid money on this.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Ryan

a de-cat is when you remove the catalyist converter which in short makes all the bad gasses that come out of an engine... not as bad.

Removing the cat removes a MASSIVE restriction in the exhaust but please note this is for OFF ROAD use only and will fail an MOT even though a lot of us do this to our road cars.

Personally I would look as something like a Supersprint exhaust which are fantastic but a little expensive - as above a magnex would do the trick, more of a sporty note too

Also, just so you are aware you can get 'Sports Cats' which are more likely to pass an MOT and any road side test but these can cost a fair bit but still flow much better than the standard one
